When it comes to buying a home, many first-time homebuyers want to know who pays for the appraisal.

The Appraisal is ordered by your mortgage lender shortly after your offer is accepted. Your lender will reach out to you to collect payment and then order the appraisal.

The typical cost is somewhere between $650 & $800 but your lender will be able to give you an accurate cost.
